Publication ethics

The scientific publication «Vestnik KazUTB» adheres to the principles, norms and standards of publication ethics. Compliance with ethical principles is important both for ensuring and maintaining the quality of a scientific journal, as well as for creating trusting and respectful relationships between participants in the publication process.

The ethics of publication establishes norms, principles and standards of ethical behavior of editors, reviewers and authors, measures to identify conflicts of interest, unethical behavior, correction and refutation of the article.

The policy of the scientific journal "Vestnik KazUTB" in the field of publication ethics is based on the recommendations and standards of the Committee on Ethics of Scientific Publications (The Committee on Publication Ethics- COPE), the Code of Ethics of Scientific Publications. In order to ensure the high quality of scientific publications, public recognition of the scientific results obtained by the author, the editorial staff, editorial and publishing group, authors, reviewers involved in the publishing process are obliged to comply with ethical standards, norms and rules and take all measures to prevent their violations.

Unethical behavior is considered the actions of authors, editors in the case of:

- self-provision of reviews of their own articles;

- contractual and false review;

- false authorship, falsification and fabrication of research results;

- transfer of the manuscript of articles to other publications without the permission of the authors;

- transfer of authors' materials to third parties;

- manipulation of citations, plagiarism.

The editorial board expects authors and reviewers to comply with all ethical principles.

 

Principles of publication ethics of Editorial Board members

The members of the editorial board are responsible for making a decision on the publication of the materials submitted by the authors in the journal.

When making a decision on publication, the editorial board of the journal is guided by the reliability of the data presentation and the scientific significance of the work under consideration.

The editors of the journal does not leave unanswered claims concerning the reviewed manuscripts or published articles, and also, when a conflict situation is identified, takes all necessary measures to restore violations of rights.

The editors of the journal may independently reject the manuscript, without peer review, if the manuscript does not correspond to the thematic focus of the journal or the required level of quality, while the decision is communicated in writing to the author.

Based on the results of checking for compliance with the requirements of registration, plagiarism and the results of scientific review, the editorial board of the journal makes a decision on publication. 

When deciding on the publication of a manuscript, the editorial board is guided by the journal's policy and publication ethics, does not allow articles with signs of plagiarism, violation of principles, standards and norms of scientific ethics and copyright infringement to be published.

Members of the editorial board are responsible for the publication of articles. If the principles of publication and (or) scientific ethics were violated when writing an article, the editor-in-chief of the journal, based on the decision of the editorial board, must carry out a retraction / retargeting of the publication.

 

Principles of the author's publication ethics

The authors are personally responsible for the text of the manuscript submitted to the editorial office of the journal. All co-authors should be notified of the submission of the manuscript to the journal.

The authors of the article are those researchers who were directly involved in the writing of the article, in the development of its concept, collection of material, analysis and interpretation.

The authors of the article must provide reliable research results, knowingly erroneous or falsified statements are unacceptable, must ensure that the research results presented in the submitted manuscript are completely original.

Authors should not submit to the journal a manuscript that has been sent to another journal and is under consideration, as well as an article already published in another journal.

If the elements of a scientific article have been previously published, the author is obliged to refer to a previously published work, verbatim copying of his own works is not allowed, they can only be used as a basis for new conclusions.

The results of the original scientific research are presented in the manuscript, the borrowed fragments or statements are drawn up according to the rules of citation, indicating the author and the original source. Borrowing, as well as plagiarism in any form, is unethical and unacceptable.

If the author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his published article, the author is obliged to immediately notify the editor of the journal or publisher and cooperate with the editor to withdraw or correct the article. If the editor or publisher learns from a third party that the published work contains a significant error, the author is obliged to withdraw or correct the article or provide the editor with proof of the correctness of the original article.

For each article (if there are two or more co-authors in the manuscript), an author for correspondence must be appointed, who will be responsible for preparing the final version of the article, while he must receive approval of the final version of the manuscript from all authors for submission to the editorial office for publication. All the authors mentioned in the article are responsible for the content of the work.

The authors undertake to correctly indicate the scientific sources that were used in the course of the study. In the case of using any parts of other people's works and/or borrowing the statements of other authors, bibliographic references should be indicated in the manuscript indicating the authors of the original source.

Authors are required to comply with ethical standards regarding interaction with the editorial board regarding peer review and publication. Non-compliance with ethical principles by the authors is regarded as a gross violation of the ethics of publications and gives grounds for the withdrawal of the manuscript from publication.

 

Principles of ethics of reviewers

The reviewer adheres to an unbiased, unbiased approach to the reviewed manuscript.

Articles received for review should be treated as confidential documents. They cannot be shown or discussed with other persons, except those authorized by the editorial board.

The reviewer must ensure the safety of the information obtained from the manuscript, it is unacceptable to use it in their personal interests, as well as the transfer of the manuscript to third parties.

The reviewer's criticism and the opinion provided must be reasonable and objective.

Reviewers must identify the published work that has not been cited by the author. Any statement that an observation, origin, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by an appropriate reference.  

The reviewer must also inform the editorial board about any significant similarity or partial coincidence between the manuscript being reviewed and another already published work that is familiar to him.

The reviewer should not review the manuscript if there is a conflict of interest.

The reviewer has the right to make a request to release him from reviewing if he considers himself insufficiently qualified in the field in which the manuscript is presented.
